When in doubt Pivot

June 20th, 2014

So my potential masters project, The horror game for the occulus rift didn’t work out it didn’t make it through the proposal process and I need to come up with a new proposal fairly quickly. Fortunately I never leave home without a marginally underdeveloped backup plan so I am scrambling to do Three months worth of design and research into roughly 20 days. In this case I am pivoting to an old idea I haven’t played with in a while which is a sheet music notation editing app for android.

I am choosing android because I don’t have regular access to an iPad my house is pretty firmly planted in the cheap and cheerful android tablet.

Well most important at least until Sunday is user research and analysis in which case I need to get this survey done as soon as possible. Its live now and bobbing around the internet. Mostly my Facebook and a so far less then successful twitter promoted tweet campaign I am getting a small engagement rate of about

Please, please do my survey please.

Other then that things are quiet at the moment I am dying from hay fever brought on by absolutely Gorgeous weather. I am almost totally broke from paying for the engagement ring, which we bought last week. Its absolutely beautiful. I am not getting a ring. I am getting an electric cello it would mean more to me then a small metal hoop with little to no defensive capabilities (That’s how I like to describe it to my friends.)

Other things I started doing as well. is I have started learning German. I am using Duolinguo to learn a little bit every day. I made it to level 6 in just under 20 days hardly more then 15 minutes a day and its a fun little challenge during down time like when I am on the bus it what my brother calls using toilet time. Part of what I like is their business model. I’m learning the language for free. but There are articles for me to translate ( I will start on those around level 10 ) and those articles pay for the education. I am also doing push ups. The app I am using lays out a plan and I follow it pretty regularly. I went from a maximum of 12 to 25 without stopping my goal I s 100. It’s a pivot off of running which I stopped doing a while ago. I should take it back up and run with frank (my husky) but not yet.

I am a big believer in a little every day gets things done. I believe in habits and trying to form them. its how my book was written and how I lost a lot of weight with slimming world.
