JUNE PRIDE and other stuff

July 1st, 2022

Happy pride. This comes out a little bit after pride itself but still, it was an eventful Pride season. A radio station that I won’t name (because my day job is involved tangentially) decided trans lives was a good idea for 3 debates. The supreme court in America decided women shouldn’t make their own decisions about what stays inside of them. And people were shot in Norway in what may or may not have been a homophobic attack. All of which are things that kind of go off like bombs in a queer man’s head or at least this queer man’s head.

Art sort of took a back seat this month in order to focus more on music. I did very few arts that I published.

Art

There was some other stuff but I didn’t feel like uploading instead I decided to soft launch a webcomic.

Baldur

Baldur has been living in my head for a long time. it is the story of the resurrected son of Odin living on earth as a gay house painter. I have about 1 comic books worth of material (22 pages ish) and I am drip releasing it as I plan to make more.

I am trying to find a balance between releasing at a pace I can keep going with and telling little stories that make sense as vignettes.

I will be putting a specific section of this website up to show it off in it’s full glory. As soon as I figure out how I will display it.

Here is what I have released so far.

ON Instagram I release it a few panels at a time.

Music

I am pretty much finished with my music challenge for the year. and nearly done with a suite of music I am writing for the piano. One more piece will complete both projects.

The suite is called the triple goddess suite. which is nine pieces of music in total. 1 intro piece in which I do what I want. 1 almost waltz and a rondo. The idea was to capture some of the characteristics of each stage maiden, mother and crone. whether or not they successfully do that. I am not so sure but I like the pieces and it’s nothing I cant edit later.

here are some of those pieces.
