Lenovo yogabook

November 20th, 2016

So I got a new toy, the Lenovo yoga book I got the windows version, and I have to say I really like it. Its not perfect there are a few hings about it that i would change. but overall i am happy to have the device. my dog however isn’t for some reason he is afraid of it . I think it’s the Haptic feedback or some kind of sound I am unable to hear, anyway  nose nudges aside here lets talk about my laptop

I am going to start by talking about the keyboard which i am using right now. A big complaint i am seeing that it feels weird. I disagree. If you have ever spent a long time typing on a tablet keyboard you will feel that this is a massive step up . My only real complaint is the touch pad is a little too close to the space bar which causes you to scroll accidentally other then that i enjoy it . even without the haptic feedback , I am typing with no sound  or vibration again because they seem to upset my dog. Sometimes the trackpad seems to tale some time to respond or registers a click when i was trying to swipe. I think that might be more to do with the learning curve

The push of a button switches it to pen mode which lets you draw. it is a really nice feel to draw with the tablet . its not far removed from using a wacom tablet . unfortunately wacom’s pens don’t work with the tablet .( i tried ) i was hoping to use the pen for copying notes. and use a wacom for drawing with it but no such luck. another great addition is the handwriting input which worked amazingly well out of the box despite my near doctors scrawl

the screen and sound are good.  I am impressed by both . its a small device but its nice most of my complaints stem from windows itself . I am more often a mac or android user since the time windows  vista launched so the new interface and is taking me some time to get used too.

since  got the tablet iv mostly been drawing with it . surveying different drawing apps because I have plans for drawing   using the drawing tablet . i have also been playing with musescore, which is great since i was neheiver really happy with the sheet music editors that you can get on android.I want to write music on the go but i also want to be able to hear wen the cello part plays . i wish muse score had a writing interface but the keyboard makes it easy enough .

its not even close to the most powerful laptop , but it doesn’t need to be . its skinny and light and great when your on the go.

and it is realitivly cheap there are much worse devices for a lot more money . its beautiful and easy to use the lenovo yoga book is definitely worth a look.

a side note when purchasing the laptop from their site don’ t get the extended warranty it isnt offered with the yoga book
