So I have a issue reading and listening to and watching gay story lines . In truth its the stories where a guy has issues around being gay and coming to terms with that and I have lived that. when I read about those awkward feelings it takes me back and I don’t like that.
That being said Philomena lee is an incredibly good book that I thoroughly enjoyed (At least when I got past the coming out issue in my head.) The real gem in the book is the start and Philomena’s story . How she was treated and the cruelty inflicted on a poor naive woman. its a comparatively short part of the book.
Mike/Anthony is a fascinating character a genius who by all accounts in the book excelled at everything but had a flaw in his personality that meant he couldn’t handle being happy a lot of the most dramatic parts of the book.
This book is a very good read I Hartely recommend it .
