Phone is back(A customer service story)

May 30th, 2014

So my phone broke what nearly 3 months now and finally it has been replaced it arrived in the post this morning. Now my phone is a nexus 5 which I got from Google and they have nearly the worst customer service I received (worst being from Sony) something, which has genuinely surprised me with the reputation Google wants I expected better. In the end I had to ship the phone to Germany and get a friend to process it.

The phone was bought in Germany which apparently excludes it from warranty because “we cant pay for shipping to another country”(Google is an international company also according to my friends these phones are manufactured here) I offered to pay shipping and the only response was we do not have a facility for that. Why not? I just can’t get my head around that.

I loved my nexus phone. It was a very good phone until it broke. Now I am worried that the big companies disregard of my problem will taint how I viewed my phone.

I know there is irony in me complaining about customer service. I hated my retail job and cant saw I put a lot of effort into it but in the end I did usually try and come up with an immediate solution to a problem. I don’t like people who put up immediate walls just to make things worse. It annoys me. I felt like Google was making excuses not to help me, which was very frustrating.

Other then that not much has happened this week. I redesigned my bad guy and started a few new habits.

I now am aiming to do a minimum of 5 pushups a day. Habits start small. 5 pushups is the minimum but every day this week I have done 20 and plan on trying to up that next week. I am also starting on a food diary just to see how I am eating and where I am falling down. So far? Everywhere. Too many snacks are just stuck around me I need to look at bringing in healthy alternatives. But lets get these habits down first.
